Our Commitment to Professional Development
At the EOEP, we are committed to setting elected officials up for impactful leadership. Each course is designed and delivered by experienced lawyers and municipal experts, ensuring that materials are current, practical, and highly valuable. We also understand that life can be unpredictable, and we’ve outlined clear and fair processes for attendance and cancellations to accommodate busy schedules.
Attendance Expectations
To get the most out of our courses, full attendance is required. Here’s how we handle attendance:
In-Person Courses:
- Participants must attend the entire course. However, up to 30 minutes of absence is permitted for personal or business matters.
- Attendance is tracked through a sign-in sheet. Failure to sign in may result in being marked absent, and no credit will be given.
Virtual Courses:
- Participants must attend all sessions. Up to 30 minutes of absence across all sessions is permitted for personal or business reasons.
- Attendance is tracked by login records and participation. Technical issues must be reported immediately to ensure attendance credit.
Cancellation and Refund Timelines
We aim to provide flexibility while maintaining fairness. Here’s how cancellations are handled:
Cancellation More Than 7 Days Before the Course Date:
- A refund will be issued, minus a $50 cancellation fee.
Cancellation Between 7 Days and 48 Hours Before the Course Date:
- Virtual Courses: A refund will be issued, minus a $50 cancellation fee.
- In-Person Courses: Half of the registration fee will be refunded, minus a $50 cancellation fee.
Cancellation Less Than 48 Hours Before the Course Date:
- No refunds are available for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance or for no-shows.
Extenuating Circumstances:
- If you are unable to attend due to legitimate reasons (e.g., illness, family emergencies), you may be eligible for a credit toward a future course. Please notify the Registrar in writing within 7 days of the course date to apply for this consideration.
Making Changes or Cancellations
- To cancel or transfer your registration to another eligible person, please email our Registrar at least 24 hours in advance. Transfers are subject to availability.
